A single GPS fix wanders — under trees or against a wall, by several metres. Averaging a run of readings pulls the random error toward zero, so the stored point is steadier than any individual reading.
The arrow shows where the target is relative to how you are holding the phone. You do not compute a bearing in your head — you turn until the arrow points ahead, then walk.
A phone receiver gives metre-level positioning, which is enough to relocate a point, flag a route or orient yourself on a parcel. Cadastral setting-out still calls for survey-grade GNSS.
The code field sorts points by type — boundary, manhole, pole, spot height. Codes travel into the CSV and make later sorting onto layers straightforward.
Yes. The phone's GPS and compass work without a mobile network, and the guidance is computed locally.
On the order of a few metres, which is what a phone GPS receiver provides. That is enough to reach a point and mark an approximate position; for precise cadastral setting-out use a survey-grade GNSS receiver.
Yes. Alongside the list of saved points there is a direct target entry — type E and N and guidance starts immediately.
